About Coleg Cambria

Coleg Cambria is situated in North East Wales and is one of the UK's largest colleges with over 7,000 full-time and 20,000 part-time learners. Created following the merger of Deeside College and Yale College, Wrexham in August 2013 it has six campuses across Wrexham, Flintshire and Denbighshire, and offers one of the widest curriculum portfolios of any college in Wales, teaching programmes from pre-entry level to Level 7.

Surrounded by beautiful mountains, valleys and rivers, Cambria College is located in North East Wales. North East Wales is a growing centre of industry and commerce and its location has attracted many leading companies.

Coleg Cambria is the only college in Wales to be a member of the 157 Group. The 157 Group exists to serve its members and to be at the leading edge of the sector. It focuses on the areas of vocational teaching and learning, strategic influence and economic impact, and employer engagement and advocacy.

Coleg Cambria is a truly enterprising institution and we strive to create a range of fun, practical opportunities for everyone to improve their entrepreneurial skills, create new networks and connections and to enhance their business knowledge and experience at Wales’ newest educational institution.

GEC Background

Coleg Cambria are delighted to take part in the GEC and it is one of the highlights of the year for our level 2 and level 3 learners. We launch this activity every year in enterprise week where we set a cross college challenge to find our most entrepreneurial teams. This year we had over 50 teams competing against each other to win the right to represent Coleg Cambria. We are thrilled that they are now representing Wales.

Coleg Cambria was born out of the merger of Deeside College and Yale College in 2013. Both former colleges took part in this prestigious competition with Yale College actually winning the Global Challenge in November 2006.
