They come from three different schools from the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany.

GEC Background

German teams have taken part in the GEC since 2003. From the start, the qualification of the team members and the participation of the team at the GEC was organised and financed by the Projekt PUG.

It is one of the projects principles to involve students from the Mainz universities in the organisation and running of the projects events, as the TGECGH and the GEC. In that way, not only the pupils from school (the GEC participants) are able to profit from these events, but also the university students are given the opportunity to test and train their working skills. And by the way: they have the best ideas on how to run the events!

In 2008 and 2010 the Projekt PUG organised a GEC EuroHub in Mainz, Germany for those teams from Europe, who could not fly to Australia or Bali, which were the GEC official host countries for the GEC, respectively.
